We expect it to involve some AI and objective play, rather than being a straight-up BR, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. But they're shifting away from the MMO model, and instead this is supposedly going to be a Battle Royale style game. The Division Heartland is going to be the next big installment for the series (if you don't count the mobile game, The Division Resurgence). This is how to join the Division Heartland beta. We're going to give you all the info you need to join the playtests. The original game was exactly what we expected from a Tom Clancy MMO, but now they want to take the franchise into a Battle Royale direction. Once here, players can use their resources to upgrade their weapons, abilities, and craft new items that they can take with them in the next match to gain an advantage.Ubisoft's The Division Heartland is hosting an Alpha and a Beta soon. If players manage to successfully leave Silver Creek, they'll head back to their Base of Operations, with all their loot in tow. When players have looted all they can, they'll need to successfully extract their goods. Upgrade stations, called " Strategic Homeland Division Beacons," will also appear throughout Silver Creek, allowing players to spend their resources on a variety of upgrades like supply drops or gas clearances. To avoid these random gas pop-ups, players will need to scavenge and craft gas masks, which they can then use to continue exploring the map. Unlike contemporary Battle Royales like Fortnite and Apex Legends, The Division: Heartland's map will not shrink over time with gas that creeps in gradually instead, gas will appear at random intervals in random locations. The Division: Heartland will feature one massive map, named "Silver Creek." Though exact details on Silver Creek's biomes and points of interest aren't known just yet, the map will reportedly feature a wide variety of locations, each one filled with useful loot.
